We all have raging thoughts. At times, our mind can race and utterly dominate our world. It is vital that we introduce practices that reduce and soften our thinking experience. Thoughts are simply thoughts - and they are not always best serving us.

Often, the healthiest thing we can do is switch off, think less, do more and find stillness, play and lightness in our day. Letting the mind breathe is essential and often, returning to a blank page in which planning, commitments, predictions and energy expended is saved.

Grounding our bodies in the present, controlling a steady breath and ackowleding that thoughts are transient, malleable, adaptive and unfixed - is essential. Softening in moments that feel at high stakes, teaches your body to remain safe, despite imagined or real pressure.

Learning that your mind is yours and something to take care of, to let rest and to be gentle with - undoes the need for constant evaluation and problem solving. It permits you to value the discipline of softening. Leaning into your creativity is a natural way of allowing your mind to breathe - drawing, writing, cooking, weaving or building a den indoors - allows your playful and curious side to epand - where the need for thought is less calculated and structured.

Letting the mind breathe is essential for a healthy life. We cannot always be functioning through thought and often the healthiest thing we can do is rest, to reduce and to play.
