Elasticity and the Power of Adaption

The power of understanding your own elasticity is profound. When you have balance, it takes a lot more to tip you and your capacity to deal with chaos increases and expands. It is paramount that you recognise the power of a cool mind and body - and cultivate its value. You can then begin to nurture, restore and protect your peace. In order to retain calm and balance you will need to learn to adapt, evolve and challenge your fixed patterns of thinking, moving and living.

It can be tempting to repeat formulas or known alga-rhythms, simply because they have worked before; but the human body is naturally creative, adaptive and resourceful - it can innovate totally new habits, methods and structures. Once you recognise your own adaptive power you can connect with your own sense of freedom and flight. You can also become autonomous and less attached to established systems, languages and resources as they exist today.

Instead, you can view the systems you are belong to as simply something that supports you in the moment - something entirely malleable, that can be replaced, restructured and re-framed. This is the key to your balance and in acknowledging the intangibility and impermanence of life circumstances and daily dynamics that we can look to adaption as a method to peace and happiness.

Once you can make a home in fluidity you achieve peace and balance. You can also accept the uncertainty and unpredictability of your current system - and like a nomad you must learn to carry home with you wherever you go; building new tribal infrastructures and engaging with a whole kaleidoscope of ever changing support systems, work patterns, romantic dynamics and pastoral relationships.

When we engage with change like stretches of sky - we learn that our strength must be in our adaption; our balance lies in our flexibility and our peace sits in remaining open to movement and remaining detached from exact outcomes. Ultimately, we must continue to cultivate and nurture a wild imagination and adapt to new challenges with creativity and innovation.

Each new challenge teaches us resilience but also our ability to rise and adapt to new challenges provides evidence each time that we are capable of resetting, restructuring and configuring - simultaneously achieving ease in the face of the unknown, the chaotic and the unpredictable.

When we understand our own elasticity - we find refuge in life, in all situations and in ourselves. We suffer most when we cling to that which feels most familiar - when it is in fact time to let go, to evolve and to grow. When we look to flexibility and elasticity as a source of enormous power and strength are experiences become lighter, more playful and easier to dance through.
