"Always keep the peace of the house"

My grandmother

Punjabi logic and co-dependent households have much to teach us. 'Always put the peace before yourself'. It taps into ancient folkloric traditions across Europe and beyond, where the overall harmony and balance of the land, the house, the village, the family, the place of worship is centrally important to collective health, happiness and sense of alignment.

The pattern of life is chaotic, wholly un-timed and unassailably unpredictable. Harvest that unknown - let it embrace you and steer you forwards towards your path. Welcome disturbance - it is moving you and developing some parts of you that have been hidden and need to be uncovered.

Be a person of peace and harmony. Be a pilgrim and love the earth you call home. She is you. Try not to be in conflict with that around you - see the connection and the positive intentions in every moment.

See a oneness in that around you that you can work together, not in competition. Take care of your home, your relationships, your interactions, passions - and grow out of love not fear, worry or doubt.

Take care of your body, vitality and coherently take care of your community, your tribe, your village, the land. Take care of your heart, soul and mind. Take care in order to thrive not survive. To envelop yourself in joy and an appetite for living - with courage and conviction

Remember that in all of us there is the knowing - a deep understanding of what is right and what is wrong. What keeps the balance within and what does not. Follow that.

Moving with peace, lends an opportunity to understand that it's not me vs you. It's us. Accept disturbance as part of love, as part of nature, part of life. There is always something to gain from chaos - laughter, endurance, resilience, durability, passion and enlightenment. You cannot hide from that. You cannot run from life. So move with it and move with peace

From prioritising peace within and around us, we can gain greater understanding of our own rhythms, patterns and triggers and we can begin to anticipate and predict what will lend overall balance in our lives. From this practice of moving with peace, we acclimatise better and discover greater self knowledge.
