Life is full of endless limitations, contained expanse and imperfection. Often it is the unknown, the failures and mistakes that tend our doubts and send them into a place of finality. Still, when we actively fuel our creativity, our joys and passions, we can starve our doubts and create a d place of safety and build a bolder, brighter and freer existence.

When we shrink who we truly are out of shame, comparison or fear, we are missing out on the opportunity to be seen, witnessed, loved and set free. Doubts imply mistrust of our own intuition, choices and of the world around us and those in it.

Expecting doubts as part of us, as part of not being at our best, we can offer a space for conflict, we can accept that our clarity on things will shift and transition moment to moment. We can accept our limitations and lend a degree of grace.

Rather than hiding our fears and fragility, our doubts can be an opportunity to share, to connect, to express, to relate and to be unsure out in the open. At times, there is a huge pressure to know ourselves, to have a grip on our motivations and our breaking points. There is an innate tension placed on resolution, on belonging and on having a finger on the pulse of our lives. Time is elastic in this way and wholly regenerative, seasonal and metamorphic.

Doubts are an enormous part of clarity and wisdom. Without doubts, we cannot find faith, draw hope or anchor ourselves. Doubts are a phenomenal test and are sent out to protect, preserve, reconfigure and to steer us onwards without hesitation. The more we can come to accept doubts as part of conviction and learn to welcome them as part of the process, the less overwhelmed we might feel when they do eventually reappear.

If we can starve our doubts, learn to find strength in them and to take courage, we might move away from fear and that which hinders, halts and stunts us. We can lead a clearer and less critical life, filled with adventure and freedom.
